DoubleTap
What is DoubleTap? DoubleTap® is SRAM's key technology that replaces traditional shifting systems. The combination of brake and shift levers has proven ineffective. SRAM RED, SRAM Force, SRAM Rival, and SRAM Apex use a brake lever for braking and a shift lever for shifting. The advantages of DoubleTap®: With DoubleTap®, you shift faster and more easily. There is only one direction of movement. To shift up, a short tap is all it takes. To shift to a lower gear, simply push the lever further.
How DoubleTap works: The ingenious aspect of DoubleTap® technology is the consistent direction of movement of the shift lever. A short, quick tap moves the pawl upwards through the shift range. For a lower gear, the lever is moved a longer distance. During this movement, the pawls and the pawl engage quickly and cleanly.
Free choice of hand position: The near-linear movement of the DoubleTap® levers offers yet another advantage. The shift lever can be operated from virtually any grip position. What's unique is that the shift lever can be pulled towards the handlebar like a pistol trigger! You can shift up while sprinting without loosening your grip on the handlebars.

EXACT ACTUATION™
When we first introduced our road bike technologies, we again relied on our proven SRAM MTB 1:1 actuation ratio (cable pull : derailleur movement) for 10-speed drivetrains. Exact Actuation helps create a simpler and more stable balance between the derailleur hanger design, tight cassette spacing, and precise cable tension. The result: a shifting system that's incredibly easy to use.
Handle width adjustment
The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever are a very personal matter. Riders have individual position preferences as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. The reach adjustment makes it incredibly easy to adjust the lever – for maximum control with just one finger.
DOT 5.1™
Heat is the enemy of any braking system. Better heat management makes your ride significantly safer. SRAM has found that DOT 5.1 takes three times longer than DOT 4 to reach its boiling point. This ensures smooth and consistent braking power under even the most extreme conditions.
